Maguro Zuke Don (Marinated Tuna Fish Rice Bowl) Recipe | OCHIKERON | Create Eat Happy :)
Ingredients
- Tuna90 g
- Sake½ tbsp
- Mirin½ tbsp
- Soy sauce1 tbsp
- Wasabi paste
- Rice1 bowl
- Kizaminori
- Perilla leaf
- Sesame seed · toasted
Instructions
- Simmer the sake and mirin in a small pot to cook off the alcohol.
- Stir in the soy sauce and wasabi (if using) and mix well. Wasabi turns milder if the mixture rests a while.
- Marinate the tuna in this sauce and refrigerate for about 10 minutes. Do not marinate longer or the tuna becomes salty.
- Meanwhile, put the rice in a bowl and let it cool. Cold rice keeps the fish from warming up.
- Spread shredded nori over the rice, arrange the tuna on top, and garnish with green onion and/or shiso leaves and toasted white sesame seeds. Add a little fresh wasabi if you like.
