Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix the matcha, kinako and 3 tablespoons of sugar. In a large bowl, prepare ice water and set it aside.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix the warabi mochi starch, 1 tablespoon of matcha powder and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Combine this mixture with the water in a pot and cook over high heat, stirring constantly.
  3. When the mixture turns lumpy, lower the heat to medium and keep cooking and stirring until it becomes very viscous. Remove from the heat.
  4. Right away, scoop 1 heaping tablespoon of the warabi batter and drop it into the ice water. Repeat until all the batter is used, then let the pieces cool for a couple of minutes.
  5. Drain the mochi well and place the pieces on a plate. Sprinkle the matcha kinako mixture generously over them.
