Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Rinse 1 cup of rice and soak it for 5 hours. Any short-grain rice such as idli rice works.
  2. Drain the soaked rice and put it in a blender jar.
  3. Add ½ cup grated coconut and water as needed, then grind into a smooth paste.
  4. Pour the batter into a large bowl.
  5. Add 3 cups of water and 1 tsp of salt, then mix until the batter is thin and watery.
  6. Heat a dosa pan and spread oil on it. Rub the hot pan with a cut onion to stop sticking.
  7. Pour the batter carefully over the hot pan. Cover and cook for 1 minute on low to medium heat.
  8. Cook the dosa on one side only. It is ready when it is cooked through. Fold it and serve immediately.
