Neer dosa recipe | Neer dose | Rice dosa recipe
Ingredients
- Rice1 cup
- Salt⅓ tsp
- Oil1 tsp
Instructions
- Wash the rice several times until the water runs clear. Soak it in water for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- If soaked overnight, drain and rinse well.
- Blend the rice with 3/4 to 1 cup water until smooth, then transfer to a batter bowl.
- Add the salt and another 1/2 cup water and mix well. The batter should be thin and watery; add more water if needed.
- Heat a pan and drizzle a few drops of oil. Smear the oil over the pan with a tissue or piece of onion, then wipe off the excess.
- When the pan is hot, stir the batter well from the bottom.
- Pour a ladleful of batter in a circle onto the hot pan, then tilt the pan to spread it thinly. Do not spread it like regular dosa batter.
- Fill any gaps so the dosa is even.
- Cover with a lid and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until the top is no longer sticky.
- Continue cooking until the sides lift easily from the pan.
- Transfer to a plate, cool for 30 seconds to 1 minute, then fold in half and then into a triangle. Serve with chutney or curry.
- Before each new dosa, grease the pan again and wipe off the excess. Stir the batter before each dosa, as the bottom thickens.
