No Yeast Craggy Old Fashioned Donut
Ingredientes
- Brown sugar⅓ tazas
- Sugar⅓ tazas
- Butter · melted0,83 tazas
- Egg2
- Vanilla1 cda.
- Sour cream¼ tazas
- Flour3 tazas
- Baking powder1 cda.
- Salt1 cdta.
- Nutmeg½ cdtas.
Preparación
- In a bowl, mix the brown sugar, granulated sugar and melted butter until well combined.
- Add the whole eggs, yolk and vanilla, and beat until light and fluffy.
- Add the sour cream and buttermilk and mix well.
- Add the cake flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg and mix until combined, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
- Flour a sheet of parchment paper and put the chilled dough on it. Dust the dough well with flour and roll it out to 1/2 inch thickness, adding extra flour as needed since the dough is soft.
- Cut the dough into 3 x 2 x 1/2 inch pieces, or divide into 16 pieces. Press a bench scraper gently down the centre of each piece to make a light indentation. Brush off excess flour.
- Carefully place 2 to 3 donuts at a time in hot oil over medium heat. Fry for 2 minutes per side or until golden, then flip again and fry for 30 seconds. Drain on paper towel and let cool.
- Mix all the glaze ingredients until smooth.
- Dip each warm donut in the glaze, place on a wire rack and let cool for a few minutes.
