Pastry heart with camembert: the original and delicious recipe for special occasions
Ingredients
- Puff pastry2
- Camembert1
- Crème fraîche50 g
- Ham
- Parsley
- Egg1
Instructions
- Cut two matching large heart shapes from the puff pastry sheets, using the first as a template for the second.
- Place the first heart on parchment paper, put the Camembert in the centre, and spread the parsley crème fraîche around the pastry.
- Arrange the ham slices around the cheese, tucked in so they don't stick out past the edges.
- Place the second heart on top and press the edges and the area around the Camembert to seal. Crimp the edges with your fingers or a fork.
- Cut strips from the cheese outward toward the edge, leaving the centre intact, and twist each strip gently into a sunburst.
- Brush the whole pastry heart with egg yolk.
- Bake at 180°C (356°F) for 20 minutes.
- Carefully remove the top of the Camembert so the centre becomes a melty dip.
