Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. Pat the tofu dry, cut it into bite-sized cubes, toss them in a bowl with the avocado oil.
  3. Spread the tofu on a parchment-lined baking tray without crowding it, and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
  4. About 15 minutes before the tofu is done, squeeze the oranges to get 1 cup of juice.
  5. Pour the juice into a small saucepan. Add some orange zest, grated garlic and grated ginger, then stir in the cayenne pepper, cane sugar, turmeric and toasted sesame oil.
  6. Cook on medium heat for 2 to 3 minutes. Mix the potato starch, water and soy sauce into a slurry.
  7. Stir the slurry into the orange sauce and cook for another 1 to 2 minutes until it thickens; add more slurry if you want it thicker.
  8. Toss the crispy tofu in the sauce, or spoon sauce over it. Sprinkle with white and black sesame seeds.
