Churro Nutella Christmas Tree
Ingredients
- Puff pastry2
- Chocolate spread2 tbsp
- Egg1
- Butter1 tbsp
- Cinnamon sugar1 tbsp
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
- Cut both puff pastry sheets into Christmas tree shapes. Spread Nutella evenly over one sheet and place the other on top.
- Move to the baking sheet. Cut slits along both sides about 2 cm (1 inch) apart, leaving the centre intact.
- Twist each strip twice and press the ends onto the baking sheet. Cut two star shapes from the leftover pastry, spread Nutella on one, and place the other on top like a sandwich. Set the star on top of the tree.
- Brush the pastry with egg yolk mixed with a little water. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25–30 minutes, until golden.
- Let cool for 5 minutes. Lightly brush with the melted butter (you may not need all of it) and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
