Garlic Parmesan Brussel Sprouts With Bacon
Ingredients
- Bacon10 oz
- Butter2 tbsp
- Brussels sprout2 lb
- Salt1 pinch
- Pepper1 pinch
- Garlic5 cloves
- Cream1 ½ cups
- Cornstarch1 ½ tsp
- Mozzarella cheese⅓ cups
- Parmesan cheese¼ cups
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Fry the bacon in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat until crispy, then move it to a plate lined with paper towels.
- Pour off most of the bacon fat, leaving 1 to 2 tablespoons in the pan. Melt the butter in the same pan, add the Brussels sprouts, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 6 minutes until the edges are golden and slightly charred.
- Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the cream, lower the heat to low and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the sprouts are tender.
- If the cream is too thin, stir in the cornstarch slurry right away until combined.
- Return the bacon to the pan and mix well. Top with the mozzarella and parmesan, then bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly.
- For a browned top, broil for 2 to 3 minutes. Finish with extra pepper if you like.
