Steak with Creamy Garlic Shrimp
Ingredients
- Beef4
- Salt2 pinches
- Pepper2 pinches
- Olive oil1–2 tbsp
- Butter3 tbsp
- Shrimp8 oz
- Garlic4 cloves
- White wine¼ cups
- Heavy cream¾ cups
- Parmesan cheese¼ cups
- Parsley1 tbsp
Instructions
- Pat the steaks dry with paper towel and season them with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet or grill over medium-high heat. Sear or grill the steaks 4–5 minutes per side until browned and cooked to your liking.
- Move the steaks to a warm plate and set aside.
- Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the skillet, add the shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and sear about 2 minutes until just cooked and pink. Move to a bowl. (On a grill, brush the seasoned shrimp with melted butter and grill until done.)
- In the same skillet, add the remaining butter and the garlic, and sauté about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Pour in the white wine (or broth) and let it reduce by half, scraping up any bits from the bottom of the pan.
- Lower the heat to medium-low, add the cream and bring to a simmer, stirring now and then. Stir in the parmesan until melted into the sauce, then season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Return the shrimp to the pan, sprinkle with parsley and stir through. Serve with the steaks.
