Rice Burger Recipe - Japanese Cooking 101
Ingredients
- Rice2 cups
- Katakuriko2 tsp
- Oil1 ½ tbsp
- Soy sauce2 tbsp
- Beef7 oz
- Yakiniku sauce2 tbsp
- Lettuce2
Instructions
- Mix the steamed rice with the potato starch and divide into 4 portions. Shape each portion between sheets of plastic wrap into a flat round patty about 10 cm (4 inches) across.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Cook the patties for a few minutes per side. After the first flip, lightly brush soy sauce on the surface; repeat after the second flip. Cook until both sides are nicely browned, then remove from the heat.
- Cut the beef into bite-sized pieces. Heat ½ tablespoon of oil in a pan and stir-fry the beef for a couple of minutes until it starts to brown. Add the yakiniku sauce and cook until the meat is coated and the liquid has almost evaporated.
- Place a rice patty on a plate, top with lettuce and half of the beef, then add another patty to make a sandwich. Repeat to make a second sandwich.
