Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Take the meat out of the fridge and let it reach room temperature, about 30 minutes.
  2. Peel the onion, keeping the root intact. Trim the ends of the carrot and scrub it clean (no peeling needed). Grate the carrot and half the onion into a medium mixing bowl.
  3. Slit each pork sausage, remove the casings, and add the sausage meat and beef mince to the bowl.
  4. Grate the garlic into the bowl, then add the black pepper and 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce.
  5. Mix with a wooden spoon or clean dry hands until well combined.
  6. Thaw the puff pastry sheets for about 10 minutes.
  7. Divide the filling into quarters and place each quarter along one end of the two pastry sheets, shaping it into a log the same length as the sheet.
  8. Cut each pastry sheet lengthwise down the middle to make 4 strips. Fold one side over the filling, overlap the other side, and press to seal. Repeat with the other three.
  9. Cut each roll into about 5 pieces (8 for bite-sized, 3 for larger).
  10. Place the rolls on a lined baking sheet with space between them. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with seeds if you like.
  11. Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 25-30 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Cool for 5-10 minutes before serving.
