#shorts Candied Cashews
Ingredients
- Cashew2 cups
- Sugar⅔ cups
- Cardamom · ground1 tsp
- Saffron½ tsp
- Dried rose petals1 tbsp
- Pistachio1 tbsp
Instructions
- Roast the cashews over low to medium heat for about 5 minutes until heated through, without browning them. Alternatively, air fry at 300°F for 3 minutes without preheating. Let them cool completely.
- Add the water, sugar and saffron to a medium pan and bring to a boil.
- When the syrup bubbles, cook it until it reaches the one-string consistency.
- Turn off the heat, then add the cooled cashews and cardamom. Add the rose petals and pistachios if using, and mix well.
- Keep stirring as the syrup thickens and coats the cashews, until it dries out completely, about 5 to 7 minutes.
- Spread the cashews on a tray, separate any that stick together, and let them cool completely. Store in an airtight container.
