#shorts Jowar Roti Recipe
Ingredients
- Flour1 ¼ cups
- Salt¾ tsp
- Ghee1 tbsp
Instructions
- Bring the water to a gentle boil in a medium pot.
- Add the salt and flour, then turn off the heat.
- Mix well with a slotted spoon, then cover and rest for 5 minutes.
- Transfer the dough to a bowl and knead until smooth.
- Divide into 4 equal balls, knead each one well, and cover them with a damp paper towel.
- Preheat the pan on low-medium heat.
- Coat one ball evenly in the dry flour, then roll it into a 6-inch circle on a 7 x 7-inch piece of parchment paper.
- Carefully transfer the roti to the pan. Brush the top lightly with water and cook for 2 to 3 minutes, until the water has dried.
- Flip with a flat spatula and cook the bottom for 3 to 4 minutes, until fully cooked with light golden spots.
- Flip again, on the pan or directly over the flame. Press gently with a clean towel on the pan so it puffs up.
- Keep the cooked roti on a plate and brush with ghee if desired.
- Repeat with the remaining dough balls, then stack the roti and wrap in paper towels or a clean towel to keep them soft.
