Ingredientes
- Butter10 colheres de sopa
- Apple · thinly sliced7 xícaras
- Brown sugar⅔ xícara
- Flour1 ½ colher de sopa + 2 xícaras
- Lemon1 colher de sopa
- Cinnamon · ground1 ¾ colher de chá
- Salt1 colher de chá
- Vanilla¾ colher de chá
- Baking powder1 ½ colher de chá
- Heavy cream1 xícara
- Sugar1 colher de sopa
Modo de preparo
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 13x9-inch glass or ceramic dish with butter.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the apples, brown sugar, flour, lemon juice, cinnamon and salt and stir until combined.
- Add the water and stir frequently for 5 minutes, until the sugar is mostly dissolved and the apples are coated.
- Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
- Pour the apple mixture into the dish and spread it evenly.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, brown sugar, baking powder and salt.
- Add the melted butter and heavy cream and stir until just combined; do not overmix or the topping will be tough.
- Dollop the topping evenly over the apples with two spoons, spreading lightly so there are no large mounds. Some gaps are fine.
- Whisk the granulated sugar and cinnamon together and scatter over the topping.
- Bake on the center rack at 350°F (175°C) for 28–30 minutes, until the liquid is bubbling and the topping is cooked through. A toothpick inserted into the centre should come out without wet batter.
- Let cool for about 10 minutes before serving.
