Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Take the cold ingredients out of the fridge in advance so they reach room temperature.
  2. Sift the flour and baking powder into a bowl. Put the softened butter in pieces into another bowl, add the lemon zest and beat with an electric mixer.
  3. While still beating, add the sugar and keep going for 1 to 2 minutes until the mixture is soft and smooth. Then add the salt and the eggs, one at a time.
  4. Keep mixing gradually until all the eggs are fully combined. Add some of the dry ingredients and mix on very low speed.
  5. Add a little milk, then keep alternating dry ingredients and milk until everything is used. The batter should be smooth and thick.
  6. Butter a 9.4-inch Bundt pan and pour in the batter. Level the top with a spatula. If wanted, dip a knife in melted butter and mark a circle in the batter to form the crack.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 355°F on the middle rack for 40 minutes. Check with a toothpick before removing it.
  8. Let the cake cool completely, then unmold it, dust with powdered sugar and serve.
