Ingredients

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add 1 tsp salt to 1 cup soya chunks and pour in hot water to soak for 10 minutes.
  2. Squeeze out the water from the soya chunks.
  3. Coarsely pulse the soya chunks in a mixer grinder, then move to a large plate.
  4. Add ¼ tsp turmeric, ½ tsp chilli powder, ½ tsp cumin powder, ½ tsp garam masala, 1 tsp aamchur powder and ½ tsp salt.
  5. Add ½ finely chopped onion, 2 tbsp chilli ginger garlic paste, 2 tbsp chopped spring onion and ½ cup roasted besan.
  6. Squeeze and mix well so all the spices are evenly combined.
  7. Grease your hands with oil and shape the mixture into ball-sized tikkis.
  8. Shallow fry in hot oil until golden brown on a low flame, flipping to cook both sides. Roasting or deep-frying also works.
  9. Serve hot.
