Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic in 2 tablespoons oil over medium heat.
  2. Add the diced chicken breast with the salt, pepper, oyster sauce, paprika and chili flakes.
  3. Add the water and cover, stirring occasionally, for 20 to 25 minutes.
  4. Turn off the heat when the sauce has thickened and reduced. Set the filling aside.
  5. Make the dough: in a mixing bowl, combine the milk, egg, sugar and yeast.
  6. Add the flour and salt and mix until a dough forms.
  7. Add the softened butter and mix until fully absorbed.
  8. Knead on a lightly floured surface, slapping and folding, until smooth and elastic.
  9. Shape into a ball, coat with oil, cover and leave for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  10. Punch down the dough to release the air, then divide it into 9 equal pieces of about 55 grams each.
  11. Shape each piece into a ball and rest under a cover for 10 minutes.
  12. Roll out each ball, fill with chicken filling, and pinch the edges to seal. Coat in breadcrumbs.
  13. Place the buns in a greased 8 x 8 inch baking dish or any dish you have. Cover and leave for 30 minutes.
  14. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C/350°F for 20 to 25 minutes, then serve.
