Sugared Cranberries
Ingredients
- Cranberry1 cup
- Sugar1
Instructions
- Put the cranberries in a medium heatproof bowl and set aside.
- Over medium heat, bring the water and 3/4 cup sugar to a simmer in a saucepan, whisking until dissolved. Take off the heat and cool for 5 minutes.
- Pour the syrup over the cranberries, stir, cover and leave for 15 minutes.
- Line a baking sheet with parchment or a silicone mat. Lift the cranberries out with a slotted spoon onto the sheet and leave uncovered for 1 hour; they will be sticky.
- Put the remaining 1/2 cup sugar in a large bowl, toss the cranberries in it to coat all over, and return them to the lined sheet. Dry uncovered for at least 1 hour at room temperature or in the fridge.
- Use right away, or store covered in the fridge up to 3 days. If they look wet, toss in a little more sugar.
