Sweet And Savory Monte Cristo Sliders • Tasty
Ingredients
- Raspberry2 cups
- Sugar · for dusting½ cups
- Lemon2 tsp
- Cooking spray · for greasing
- Sweet hawaiian dinner rolls · 12 count1 packet
- Turkey · roasted sliced¼ lb
- Ham · sliced¼ lb
- Swiss cheese · grated¼ lb
- Egg · beaten1
- Butter · melted4 tbsp
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, cook the raspberries for about 4 minutes until they burst and smell very fragrant.
- Add the sugar and cook, stirring constantly, for 10-15 minutes, until a spoon drawn through the jam leaves a clear trail along the bottom of the pot.
- Stir in the lemon juice, take off the heat and let the jam cool completely, then refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Line a small baking sheet with foil, leaving overhang to use as handles, and grease it with nonstick spray.
- Slice the sheet of Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the rolls connected, and place the bottom half on the prepared sheet.
- Layer the turkey and ham on the rolls, folding the meat to fit each roll, then top with the Swiss cheese.
- Spread the raspberry jam over the top half of the rolls and set it on the cheese, pressing down lightly.
- Mix the beaten egg with the melted butter and brush it generously over the tops.
- Bake until the cheese is fully melted and the buns are toasted, 25-30 minutes. If the tops brown too fast, cover loosely with foil.
- Cool for about 10 minutes, move to a serving platter, lightly dust with powdered sugar and serve whole so they can be pulled apart.
