Tamagoyaki Recipe #japanesefood #japanesecooking101 #japaneserecipe #tamagoyaki
Ingredients
- Egg4
- Salt¼ tsp
- Soy sauce¼ tsp
- Mirin1 tbsp
- Oil1 tsp
Instructions
- Mix the eggs, salt, soy sauce and mirin in a bowl.
- Heat a pan over medium-high heat and add the oil. A rectangular tamagoyaki pan works best, but a round pan can also be used.
- Pour a thin layer of egg mixture into the pan, tilting to coat the bottom. When the thin egg has set slightly but is still liquid on top, gently roll it into a log at one end of the pan.
- Pour more egg mixture into the pan under the log so it covers the bottom, let it set, then roll the log back onto the cooked egg and across to the other end. Repeat, adding egg and rolling back and forth until the egg is used up.
- Remove from the pan and cool for 3 to 4 minutes.
- Trim the ends off the log and slice into 1/2-inch (about 1.3 cm) pieces.
