The Best Homemade Strawberry Lemonade
Ingredients
- Sugar½–1 cup
- Lemon1 ½ cups + 2
- Strawberry1 ½ lb + 1 cup
Instructions
- Put the sugar in a small saucepan and add the zest of 2 lemons. Rub the sugar and zest between your fingers to release the oils.
- Add 1 cup of water, heat on medium-high until the sugar fully dissolves (no need to boil), then chill the syrup in the fridge.
- Cut 10 to 12 lemons in half and squeeze out the juice into a large measuring cup. Strain it through a fine mesh sieve.
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then blend them to a smooth purée. If you have no blender, crush them well with two forks or a potato masher.
- In the dispenser or pitcher, place 1 cup of sliced strawberries and 2 sliced lemons, then add about 2 cups of ice.
- Pour in the chilled syrup, the lemon juice and the strawberry purée.
- Add 6 to 8 cups of water (start with 6) and stir well.
- Chill for a few hours, then serve with a little ice so it does not dilute.
