The Best Peach Cobbler
Ingredients
- Peach · sliced5–6
- Sugar1 ¼ cups
- Cornstarch1 tbsp
- Butter · melted½ cups
- Vanilla1 tsp
- Flour1 cup
- Baking powder1 tsp
- Salt1 pinch
- Ice cream
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the bottom of a 9×13 inch pan with a little butter.
- Add the peaches and sugar to the pan and mix them directly in it.
- Mix the melted butter, sugar, vanilla, flour, baking powder and salt until a batter with the texture of cookie dough forms.
- Drop spoonfuls of the batter over the peaches and spread them with a spoon or fingers, without aiming for perfection.
- Bake for 30 minutes. The peaches should be juicy and bubbling around the edges.
- Sprinkle the top with turbinado sugar and bake another 10-15 minutes.
- Finish under the broiler at about 475°F (245°C) for a few minutes, watching closely, until golden brown and slightly crunchy on top.
- Let the cobbler stand for 20-30 minutes before serving so the peach base thickens.
