The Only Beef Tacos Recipe You’ll Ever Need (So Juicy!)
Ingredients
- Ground beef1 lb
- Onion1
- Garlic2
- Tomato paste1 tbsp
- Taco seasoning3 tbsp
- Tortilla8
- Lettuce · shredded
- Pico de gallo · diced
- Cheddar cheese · shredded
- Guacamole
- Hot sauce
Instructions
- If making your own, stir the taco seasoning ingredients together in a small bowl; if using store-bought, measure out 3 tablespoons.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the beef and break it up with a spatula until mostly browned, about 4 minutes.
- Stir in the onion and cook 3 to 4 minutes until softened and the beef is fully cooked. Add the garlic and cook 30 seconds until fragrant. If there is a lot of grease, spoon off most of it, leaving about 1 tablespoon.
- Add the 3 tablespoons taco seasoning and 1 tablespoon tomato paste, stir well and cook 1 minute until the beef is evenly coated.
- Add 1/2 cup water, stir, then reduce heat to medium-low and simmer uncovered 3 to 4 minutes, stirring occasionally, until juicy and lightly saucy with no excess liquid.
- Warm the taco shells or tortillas, fill each with the beef and add toppings.
