These Dinner Rolls Melt in Your Mouth #shorts
Ingredients
- Milk1 ½ cups
- Butter5 tbsp
- Yeast1 tbsp
- Sugar⅓ cups
- Salt1 ¾ tsp
- Flour4 cups
Instructions
- In a mixer bowl, whisk warm milk (about 110°F) with 1 Tbsp sugar. Sprinkle 1 Tbsp yeast on top, let sit 1 minute, then whisk and let stand about 5 minutes until foamy.
- Add 4 Tbsp melted butter, the remaining sugar and the salt.
- Add flour half a cup at a time, whisking. When too thick, switch to the dough hook on speed 2 (or stir by hand). Use about 4 cups flour total, adding the last 1 to 3 Tbsp only if needed. The dough should be sticky and tacky but not stick to clean dry fingertips.
- Knead with the dough hook for 2 minutes, or by hand for 10 minutes. Put the dough in an oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap and let rise about 2 hours in a warm place, or until doubled.
- Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and cut into 15 to 24 even pieces, depending on your baking dish. Roll each into a ball and place on an oiled 9x13 dish or baking sheet.
- Cover and let rise another 30 to 60 minutes in a warm place, until puffy. Do not over-proof.
- Bake at 375°F for about 23 to 25 minutes, until tops are golden brown.
- Immediately brush the tops with melted butter and let cool to room temperature before serving.
