🍀This Irish Sausage Roll Recipe is Perfect For St. Patrick's Day 🍀 #shorts
Ingredients
- Sausage · ground1 lb
- Egg1
- Onion1
- Breadcrumb¾ cups
- Salt½ tsp
- Pepper½ tsp
- Puff pastry
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, mix the sausage meat, egg, onion, breadcrumbs, salt and pepper. Set aside.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll the puff pastry into a rectangle about 12 x 14 inches (30 x 35 cm).
- Cut the pastry in half lengthwise to make two strips, each about 6 x 14 inches (15 x 35 cm).
- Divide the filling in half. On each strip, shape half the filling into a log along the length. Brush the pastry edges with egg wash.
- Wrap the pastry over the filling to form a log. Trim the edge, press with a fork to seal, then prick the top with the fork.
- Cut each log into pieces about 1½ inches (4 cm) long, measured at the seam side, and place on the lined sheet. This makes about 20 rolls.
- Brush with egg wash and bake 35 to 40 minutes, until puffed and golden brown. Cool 15 minutes before serving.
