Who knew Rice Krispie Treats Could be THIS GOURMET!? Steal my Tips & Tricks!
Ingredients
- Butter6 tbsp
- Marshmallow15 oz
- Vanilla1 tsp
- Cereal6 cups
- Colored sprinkles3 tbsp
Instructions
- Grease a 13x9 pan with butter or line it with parchment and set aside.
- Melt the butter in a large saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally until fully melted.
- Add 10 oz (about 5½ heaping cups) of marshmallows and stir until just melted. Keep the heat below medium and stir often so the butter stays combined; too much heat makes the treats hard.
- Stir in the vanilla, then add the cereal and the remaining 5 oz (about 2½ heaping cups) of marshmallows. Stir until combined and the new marshmallows just begin to melt.
- Scatter in the sprinkles, stir briefly, then immediately press the mixture evenly into the prepared pan with a spatula or your hands, without overworking it.
- Let cool completely at room temperature, about 30 to 60 minutes, before cutting.
