Why I Only Make 4 Scones
Ingredients
- Flour1 cup
- Sugar2 ½ tbsp
- Baking powder¾ tsp
- Butter4 ½ tbsp
- Milk⅓ cups + 1 tbsp
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 325°F (165°C) only if your model needs it.
- In a medium bowl, whisk the flour, sugar and baking powder together.
- Rub the cold diced butter into the flour until the mix looks like fine breadcrumbs.
- Gradually add the milk and mix lightly until combined.
- Gently bring the mixture together into a dough without kneading, then pat it into a disc about 1 inch thick.
- Cut straight down with a 2 ½ inch round cutter without twisting, then brush only the tops with egg wash.
- Line the air fryer basket with parchment and space the scones evenly apart.
- Cook at 325°F (165°C) for 15–18 minutes, until golden on top and firm when lightly pressed.
- Transfer to a wire rack to cool.
