Persian Style Spaghetti
Ingredients
- Olive oil⅓ cups
- Onion1
- Garlic2 cloves
- Ground beef1 lb
- Turmeric½ tsp
- Salt1 tsp
- Black pepper½ tsp
- Oregano1 tsp
- Tomato paste3 tbsp
- Passata24 oz
- Spaghetti1 lb
Instructions
- Heat 2 tablespoons of the olive oil in a pan over medium-high heat and sauté the onion until golden.
- Add the garlic and cook for one minute. Add the ground beef and the spices and cook until browned, breaking the meat apart.
- Stir in the tomato paste and cook for a few minutes. Add the passata, cover, and cook for 30 to 40 minutes.
- Meanwhile, cook the spaghetti in salted water according to the package. Drain, transfer to a large bowl, and toss with a drizzle of olive oil so it doesn't stick.
- Add the meat sauce to the pasta and gently mix. Pour the remaining olive oil into a large pan (or pot), transfer the pasta into it, cover, and cook over medium heat for 40 minutes.
- The pasta is ready when the bottom is golden and crispy. Flip it, let it cool for a few minutes, and serve.
